Police seek witnesses following drive by shooting in Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Police are asking for the public’s assistance following a drive by shooting in Mount Vernon.

Mount Vernon Police Lt. Dave Shackleton says officers were called to a report of gunshots in the 3000 block of E. College Way around 12:40 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30.

They arrived to find a 41-year-old man with a gunshot wound. The man was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital to be treated. Investigators are continuing their investigation at the scene of the shooting.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has more information is being asked to call Mount Vernon Police.
