WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Another storm system is forecasted to hit western Washington this week.

The National Weather Service in Seattle is predicting rain and mountain snow showers on Monday, Nov. 18, with conditions expected to diminish overnight.

A storm system is developing off the coast, and strong winds will hit Washington on Tuesday afternoon through early Wednesday morning. Near high-surf conditions are possible along the coast.

Heavy snow is possible on the Cascades on Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. Blizzard-like conditions are possible near and east of the Cascade crest.

Whatcom County will see wind and showers starting on Tuesday into the weekend. Minor coastal floods are likely Monday through Wednesday, with Wednesday as the most severe. Heavy rain will likely cause at least minor flooding on the Skokomish River in Mason County.

These conditions are a result of a bomb cyclone hitting the Pacific Northwest, though its most severe effects will hit southern Oregon and northern California.

Another weaker round of wind, rain and snow is expected to start later this week.
