PARIS, FR (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Several athletes from Washington have already found success at the Paris Olympics, and one Bellingham man is hoping to make his mark.

2021 Sehome High School alum Jonas Ecker is making his Olympic debut in the early morning of Tuesday, Aug. 6.

He’ll race with his partner, fellow UW athlete Aaron Small, in the men’s kayak 500m heats on Tuesday at 2:30 am PST and individually in the 1,000m heat at 1:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug, 7.

King5 has reported that three western Washington Olympians have won gold medals so far, including Vancouver gymnast Jordan Chiles.

Chiles won gold in the team competition last week and just won bronze on Aug. 5 in the floor exercise event, finishing just behind fellow American Simone Biles.
