Two people injured in helicopter crash in Burlington

SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Two people were injured following a helicopter crash in Burlington on the morning of Monday, Aug. 18.

The Port of Skagit says the crash occurred at the Skagit Regional Airport just after 10 a.m.

Witnesses on the airfield reported that the tail of the helicopter hit a light pole as it was taking off.

Two people were on board the R44 helicopter and both were taken to Skagit Regional Health in Mount Vernon with minor injuries.

The Port says it’s working with the FAA and NTSB to investigate the cause of the crash.
