BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Port of Bellingham has formally confirmed its newest director.

Port commissioners say that Tiffany DeSimone has accepted the Executive Director role as of Tuesday, May 12.

My Bellingham Now previously reported on the commission’s vote to approve her for the role late last month.

DeSimone had been serving as the interim Director since last summer, when the port parted ways with former director Rob Fix. Prior to her top leadership roles, DeSimone also served as the Port of Bellingham’s Maritime Director.

She’ll be working with the soon-to-be expanded Port Commission to continue their goals for economic growth within our region’s harbors, shipping terminal and airport. Voters will be able to decide on the new five-member commission this November.
