Three arrested following warrant in Maple Falls, two tied to Mount Vernon murder

MAPLE FALLS, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Three more people have been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting in Skagit County.

Mount Vernon Police say that they were assisted by BPD and WCSO to serve a search warrant on a home on Lacey Lane in Maple Falls Thursday, June 25.

A 17-year-old Mount Vernon boy and a 20-year-old Burlington woman were taken into custody on charges related to their roles in the shooting.

A 26-year-old Mount Vernon man was also arrested at the home after being found with a firearm that had the serial number scratched off.

Police say that gun was not the one used in the fatal shooting on June 11, which killed 23-year-old Arturo Ortiz Lopez.

My Bellingham Now previously reported another 26-year-old man was arrested on June 16 on three felony charges, including first degree murder.
