Kalen DeBoer will replace Alabama legend Nick Saban as the Crimson Tide’s next head coach.

ESPN reports DeBoer signed a deal with the school today.

DeBoer leaves Seattle after two seasons with the Huskies in which he went 25-3.

He took over for the program in 2021 after it went 4-8.

 

The Seattle Kraken continue their streak as one of the league’s hottest teams.

They beat the Washington Capitals 4-1 to tie a franchise record with eight straight wins.

Seattle got out to a quick 2-0 lead after the first period and never looked back as they now improve to 18-14-9 on the season.

Joey Daccord had 25 saves in the win.

The Kraken have gotten points in each of their last 12 games.

Their next game is tomorrow at 4 pm against the Columbus Blue Jackets on KPUG.

 

Huskies star receiver Rome Odunze is headed to the NFL Draft. 

Odunze led the nation with 1,640 receiving yards, scored 13 touchdowns and earned first-team All-America honors.

 

First baseman Ty France and right-hander Logan Gilbert are among seven players who have agreed to one-year contracts with the Seattle Mariners, avoiding salary arbitration.

Also agreeing to one-year deals was infielder Luis Urias, infielder Josh Rojas, right-handed relievers Justin Topa and Trent Thornton, and utility player Sam Haggerty.

 

The Washington Huskies beat Arizona State 82-67 last night on KGMI.

Senior guard Sahvir Wheeler led the team with 24 points and Keion Brooks Jr. added 22 in the win.

The Huskies improve to 10-6 ahead of Sunday’s  matchup with UCLA.

 

The Western Washington University men’s team lost to Montana State-Billings 97-84.

Kai Johnson scored a game-high 26 points with 8 rebounds and 3 steals in the effort.

The Vikings fall to 10-5 on the season and 2-2 in GNAC play.

Meanwhile, the women’s team beat Central Washington 100-75 to get their fourth win in the last five games.

The game was tied at halftime before the Vikings pulled away with a 34-point third quarter.

Brooke Walling led the team with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

They now improve to 11-3 and stay undefeated at home.

 

Taking a look at high school basketball scores from last night…

Lynden boys beat Blaine 79-27.

Lynden girls topped Blaine 61-17.

Bellingham boys lost to Anacortes 68-44.

Bellingham girls also fell to Anacortes 55-24.

And the Lynden Christian girls defeated Meridian 71-30.
