BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – One of two suspects connected to a fatal gang-related shooting in Bellingham has been sentenced.

Court documents state that 19-year-old Royelio Marquez pleaded guilty to rendering criminal assistance in Whatcom County Superior Court on April 23.

He was sentenced to seven months in jail and was transferred to DOC custody earlier Thursday.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that Marquez and 20-year-old Alan Ramos were arrested in connection to a fatal drive-by shooting.

Last October, a car stopped at a light on the Guide was approached by the two suspects.

One of them shot at the car several times, killing 26-year-old Daytin Duronso-Harp and injuring a 25-year-old man.

Ramos still faces second-degree murder charges and remains at the Whatcom County Jail on $2 million bail.

His trial is currently scheduled for June 15.
