LARRABEE STATE PARK, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Recreationalists can enjoy free access to the great outdoors this weekend.

The Washington state Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is celebrating National Public Lands Day by offering free access to parks and wildlands on Saturday, Sept. 26.

The free access applies to all areas covered by the Discover Pass including state parks and land managed by DNR and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. There are three state parks in Whatcom County: Birch Bay State Park, Larrabee State Park and Peace Arch Historic State Park.

Saturday is one of 12 annual free days.

The Discover Pass costs $45 a year or $10 for a one-day visit. Find a full list of free park days on DNR’s website.
