DENVER, CO (MyBellinghamNow.com) – More mishaps for Boeing happened this past week following the announcement that its CEO is stepping down amid a string of safety concerns.

A Boeing jet leaving Denver on Sunday morning was forced to land after an engine cover fell off and struck a wing flap during takeoff.

Southwest Airlines said in a statement that the plane landed safely, and passengers were put onto another aircraft.

It was the second incident in the past few days for Boeing, after a flight from Texas was canceled on Thursday because of an engine fire. Both planes were Boeing 737-800s, which is an older model than the 737 Max. The Federal Aviation Association (FAA) is investigating both incidents.
