Sedro-Woolley and Ferndale receive funding to minimize traffic fatalities and accessible transportation

WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Federal funding has been awarded for a handful of projects in Whatcom and Skagit Counties.

US Rep. Rick Larsen announced that $180,000 has been granted through the US Department of Transportation for the two projects.

Sedro-Woolley and Ferndale were recipients of the funding, which will be used to develop transportation safety action plans.

Part of the planning includes ways to cut traffic fatalities and make transportation more accessible.

Meanwhile, the US Department of Justice awarded Whatcom County $440,000 to invest in rapid test DNA machines and crime scene processing equipment.
