BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Overnight roadwork may slow you down near a busy Bellingham intersection.

Bellingham Public Works crews are moving their operations to the overnight hours on Lincoln Street starting on Monday, Sept. 28.

Daytime work earlier this week caused heavy delays near the I-5 Samish Way ramps.

Crews will be grinding and repaving the road between Elwood Avenue and E Maple Street from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday, Oct. 2.

The northbound I-5 on-ramp from Lincoln Street will temporarily close during those same overnight hours.

Meanwhile, a big lane closure could slow you down on I-5 this weekend.

WSDOT says they will close the right lane of northbound I-5 between Lakeway and Iowa Street from 6 a.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. Sunday for maintenance.

Drivers should plan for extra time or use an alternate route if possible.
