FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Be prepared for traffic delays coming up this week if you live in Ferndale.

The city is closing the section of Ferndale Terrace between Vista Drive and Hendrickson Avenue from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Detour signs will be in place for drivers to follow during the closure.

Crews will be working to reconstruct and widen the roadway as part of the Ferndale Terrace Improvement Project.

Meanwhile, Main Street will see lane closures throughout the next week.

Flaggers have been lane shifting traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Thursday,, Oct. 16, and ending on Friday, Oct. 24.

Two lanes of traffic will generally remain open, but flaggers could briefly stop all traffic at various times.

The lane shifts are part of utility work attached to construction of Ferndale’s Civic Campus Project.
