BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Public comment is now being accepted for a proposed apartment project in downtown Bellingham.

The City of Bellingham Community Planning Department says that they received an initial application for the 4-story building on N. Forest Street in August.

Bellingham-based AVT Consulting is looking to construct a 36-unit residential building on the current site of a dental office. It will also feature dedicated bicycle and vehicle parking spaces, as well as a wider sidewalk.

The existing office space at 1101 N. Forest St. location would be demolished if the apartment building application is approved.

Public feedback is especially being sought for potential environmental concerns in the area.

The comment period will close on October 2.
