Mariners News

The Mariners are wrapping up their road trip with a series in our nation’s capital. They’re opening a three-game series against the Washington Nationals tonight.

The M’s are coming off a series split with the Orioles that ended in a 7-5 loss last night.

Cole Young kicked the game off with a leadoff home run to give the M’s an early lead. But Baltimore scored nearly all of their runs during a six-run third inning that featured a pair of home runs in one of Bryan Woo’s roughest outings of the season.

Luke Raley and Dominic Canzone each went on to homer, but it wasn’t enough as the Mariners now sit just a game above the Rangers for first place in the AL West.

They’re now facing a Nats team that owns a nearly identical record to the M’s. The game was scheduled to begin at 3:45 but is in a rain delay.

Bells News

Meanwhile, the Bells are wrapping up their homestand on the heels of a series win.

Bellingham shut out Nanaimo 2-0 last night to take two out of three in the series. Four Bells pitchers combined to give up just four hits and Jake Lyall scored each of their two runs to help earn the win.

The Bells are now tied with the NightOwls for second place in the North Division, each sitting at 7-5.

The Portland Pickles are now in town for a rematch of last year’s West Coast League title game that saw the Bells bring home their first championship in a decade. Their series opener is already underway from Joe Martin Field, with an early 4:35 first pitch.

World Cup News

The United States are gearing up for their first match of the FIFA World Cup.

The US is playing Paraguay at 6:00 tonight at SoFi Stadium in California. It’s their first of three group-stage games that will determine whether they make it to the 32-team knockout round.

Bellingham’s first official fan zone watch party for the game is taking place at Trackside Beer Garden.

Meanwhile, Canada played Bosnia-Herzegovina to a 1-1 draw earlier today in Toronto to earn its first World Cup point ever. Vancouver hosts its first match tomorrow night when Australia takes on Turkey at 9:00.

Storm News

The Storm are back tonight with another chance to snap their skid.

They’re hosting the Golden State Valkyries in the midst of a seven-game losing streak.

The Storm have fallen to the bottom of the Western Conference standings and stand just a game above the Connecticut Sun for the worst record in the WNBA. They’ll look to end their woes tonight before hitting the road.

Tonight’s game tips off at 7:00 from Climate Pledge Arena.

NBA/NHL Finals News

We’ve got a pair of massive finals games looming this weekend in basketball and hockey.

First, the New York Knicks have a chance to secure their first championship since 1973 when they play the Spurs in San Antonio tomorrow in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Then, on Sunday, the Carolina Hurricanes will look to wrap up their series against the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Seahawks News

Speaking of bringing home hardware, the Seahawks celebrated their recent championship in style last night.

The team received their Super Bowl 60 rings during a private ceremony for players, coaches and staff. The rings contain 50 diamonds in a nod to the team’s 50th season, along with sapphires, team mantras and each player’s name.

They also include a special feature 12 Flag button that, when pressed, releases and expands the Lumen Field arches to reveal the words “World Champions.”
