Seahawks News

A new Seahawk will don the No. 3 jersey for the first time since Russell Wilson. The team announced that rookie safety and second-round pick Nick Emmanwori will wear #3 this season.

No one has worn the number since Russell Wilson was traded to the Broncos in 2022. Emmanwori will also be the first defensive player in franchise history to wear #3.

First-round pick Grey Zabel is taking #76, the same as several past Seahawks offensive lineman, including Hall of Famer Steve Hutchinson and Pro Bowlers Russell Okung and Duane Brown. Meanwhile, third-round quarterback out of Alabama Jalen Milroe scooped up #6.

Sounders News

A star player for the Sounders will be out of action for at least a month. Coach Brian Schmetzer announced today that forward Jordan Morris will miss an estimated six weeks with a left hamstring injury.

The club’s all-time leading scorer suffered the injury in last week’s 1-1 draw against Colorado. An MRI later showed that it’s the same area as Morris’ hamstring injury he suffered in March that forced him to miss four matches.

The Sounders will look to shake off the news this Saturday when they host St. Louis City SC.

Mariners News

The Mariners have the day off today before hitting the road for a key divisional series. Seattle has boasted one of the best offenses in baseball over the past few weeks following their recent two-game sweep of the Angels. They’ve piled on 35 runs across their last four games.

Randy Arozarena has gotten on base in each of his last 25 games, the third-longest active streak in the league. J.P Crawford has a nine-game hitting streak going himself.

Despite recent injuries to key players like Logan Gilbert, Luke Raley and Dylan Moore, the M’s are riding a four-game win streak and have won seven straight series.

They’re in for a critical weekend series against the Rangers in Arlington, TX, who sit just two games behind in the AL West standings. Coverage for tomorrow’s opener begins at 4:00 and first pitch is at 5:05 on KPUG.

WWU Vikings News

The transfer portal continues to hit Western Washington University basketball hard. According to portal tracker Verbal Commits, former Sehome High School standout Grant Kepley is transferring out of Western. Kepley is coming off a successful season where he led the team in assists and ranked third in points on his way to winning GNAC Freshman of the Year. He joins sophomores Tijan Saine and Jordan Tate as key players from last season’s team who have hit the portal.

Saine, who was named to the All-GNAC First Team this past season, has committed to Weber State. Kepley and Tate have not announced their landing spots yet.

Meanwhile, Cascadia Daily News reports Vikings’ women’s basketball starting point guard Mason Oberg has entered the portal as well.
