Mariners News

The Mariners are playing the Orioles in the second of their four game series in Baltimore tonight.

The M’s won the series opener 6-3 yesterday thanks to a fifth-inning grand slam from Josh Naylor. He later scored on an RBI single by Randy Arozarena to punctuate the win.

Emerson Hancock gave up just one run through five innings to earn his team-leading fifth win of the season.

Colt Emerson was a late scratch from the starting lineup yesterday due to back tightness.  Cole Young is playing shortstop for the team in Emerson and JP Crawford’s absence, while Patrick Wisdom mans third base and Ryan Bliss takes over at second.

Logan Gilbert is on the mound to start Game 2 today against Baltimore. Coverage begins at 2:30 and first pitch is at 3:40 on KPUG.

Bells News

The Bells are back at home tonight. They’re opening their series against the Nanaimo NightOwls at Joe Martin Field.

The Bells are coming off a series win against the Springfield Drifters in Oregon over the weekend. They’re now facing off with Nanaimo in a battle between two of the top teams in the North Division standings.

First pitch for tonight’s game is at 6:35 and tickets are half off.

Storm News

The Storm suffered another rough defeat last night.

They fell to the Las Vegas Aces 101-91 on the road for their sixth-straight loss.

2x reigning MVP A’ja Wilson just missed a triple double, with 34 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists. Former Storm star Jewell Loyd managed five points off the bench for the defending champion Aces.

Dominique Malonga led Seattle with 19 points in just 17 minutes.

The Storm will look to snap their skid tomorrow night against the Los Angeles Sparks in their return to Climate Pledge Arena.

NBA/NHL Finals News

The Stanley Cup Final is back in action tonight for Game 4 between the Golden Knights and Hurricanes.

Carolina will look to even the series at two games apiece, while Vegas will aim to build on momentum from its double overtime win on Saturday in front of its home crowd. The game starts at 5:00 on ABC.

Meanwhile, the Spurs edged the Knicks 115-111 last night at Madison Square Garden. Victor Wembanyama scored 32 points, as the Spurs now have a chance to tie the series at two games apiece tomorrow night in New York.

WWU Vikings News

Western Washington University is honoring its top athletes after another successful school year.

The Vikings’ athletic department held its annual awards ceremony last week.

Senior soccer forward Morgan Manalili and senior track star Bec Bennett each won Women’s Athletes of the Year, while junior golfer Conrad Brown and junior hurdler Maurice Woodring each took home Men’s Athletes of the Year.

The Vikings women’s rowing squad won Team of the Year after securing their 10th national title in program history.
