Northwest Sports Update: M’s finish off Royals for division lead, Storm play decisive Game 3 in Vegas, Thursday Night Football in Bellingham and more

The Mariners are back in the division lead after beating the Royals earlier today.

The M’s edged Kansas City 2-0 to win the series and move into a first place tie with Houston in the American League West.

Jorge Polanco and JP Crawford each hit RBI doubles and Luis Castillo tossed six shutout innings to give Seattle their 11th win in 12 games.

The Mariners will now head to Houston for their final road series of the season and one that could decide the division.

Both teams have 84 wins and 69 losses going into the three-game series with just nine games left in the season.

All-Star Bryan Woo will look to get the M’s off to a strong start in the series opener.

It’s win or go home for the Storm tonight in a decisive Game 3 against the Las Vegas Aces.

Seattle’s coming off a tight win in Game 2 where they closed with a 16-4 run to complete the comeback.

It snapped the Aces’ 17 game win streak, but they’ll need to do it again to make it out of the first round.

Tonight’s winner will advance to the Final Four of the WNBA Playoffs, where they’ll face the winner of Atlanta vs. Indiana.

The Storm tip off at 6:30 and the game is streaming on ESPN2.

Week 3 of the NFL season kicks off tonight with Thursday Night Football.

Reigning MVP Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are hosting the Miami Dolphins in a matchup of division rivals.

The undefeated Bills are looking to become the first team to get to three wins, while the Dolphins are still searching for their first.

Coverage begins at 4:30 and kickoff is at 5:15 on KPUG.

The Seahawks host the New Orleans Saints just after 1 pm this Sunday.
