Mariners News

Eugenio Suarez hit a three-run homer and the Mariners beat the Padres 4-3 this afternoon.

Luke Raley hit a double in the second inning to score Suarez for the first run of the game.

Suarez kept up the pressure in the fourth with a 3-run bomb to give Seattle all the run support it would need.

Bryan Woo earned his 12th win of the season after giving up two runs through five and two-thirds innings.

But it barely snapped his streak of 25-straight starts where he tossed at least six innings, which was the longest streak to begin a season in major league history.

The Mariners have the day off tomorrow before kicking off their penultimate road trip of the season against the Cleveland Guardians on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Mariners have a familiar face coming in to help bolster their bullpen.

The team called up Emerson Hancock from Triple-A Tacoma earlier today ahead of their game against the Padres.

Hancock had been exclusively a starting pitcher since the M’s drafted him in 2020, but made his first relief appearance with the Rainiers last week.

The 26-year-old averaged a 97 mph fastball in two bullpen outings, topping out at 99 on Sunday.

Sounders News

The Sounders are playing the LA Galaxy in the Leagues Cup semifinals tonight.

It will be a chance at revenge for Seattle, who lost to LA in the MLS Cup semifinals last year.

The Sounders need a win to clinch a spot in the 2026 Champions Cup.

The winner of the game will play either Lionel Messi and Inter Miami or Orlando in the championship.

Tonight’s match begins at 7:45.

Seahawks News

The Seahawks are picking up a new defender from their division rivals.

Seattle claimed former Los Angeles Rams cornerback Derion Kendrick off waivers this morning.

Kendrick made 18 starts for the Rams over his first two seasons, including a pick off Drew Lock against the Seahawks in 2023.

But the Rams waived him on Tuesday after he missed the 2024 season with a torn ACL.

The Seahawks released veteran cornerback Shaquill Griffin to make room for Kendrick.

Storm News

The Storm had their win streak snapped in Indiana last night.

They fell to the short-handed Fever 95-75 to finish their season series without a win.

Aliyah Boston scored 27 points to lead Indiana, who has been without star point guard Caitlin Clark since she suffered a groin injury in July.

Nneka Ogwumike led the Storm with 17 points to follow up her 30-point effort in Sunday’s win over the Mystics.

Seattle had won three straight heading into last night’s matchup, but they’ll now look to rebuild the streak starting tomorrow.

They’re capping off their road trip in Minnesota against the Western Conference-leading Lynx.

Pac-12 News

The Pac-12 Conference has extended its media contract with The CW Network.

The deal calls for the network to carry 13 regular-season football games, a combined 50 men’s and women’s basketball games and the women’s hoops title game.

The contract will begin next season when the Pac-12 adds six schools, and run through 2030-31.

It extends a partnership that began last football season with the network carrying games involving Washington State and Oregon State, the two schools that remained in the league after a huge round of realignment in 2023.
