The Mariners are starting off their penultimate road trip of the season today against the Cleveland Guardians.
The M’s have lost their last five road games, but are coming off a successful homestand where they won four of six. They’ll face a Guardians club that has lost six of its last eight.
Cleveland currently sits five games behind Seattle for the third and final wild card spot in the American League.
Meanwhile, the Mariners finally got some clarity on Victor Robles’s suspension. Major League Baseball announced today that Robles will have to sit out seven games following his appeal.
It’s three games less than his initial suspension after he threw a bat in frustration towards a pitcher while rehabbing with Triple-A Tacoma. The ban will start immediately.
The M’s will try to make do in the meantime, starting tonight with their series opener against Cleveland. The game started at 4:10 pm on KPUG.

Huskies football is back this weekend. UW is hosting Colorado State in their season opener tomorrow night.
The team will look to improve on its 6-7 finish last season as Jedd Fisch enters Year 2 as head coach.Coverage begins at 6:00 and kickoff is at 8 tomorrow night on KGMI.
Across the state, the Cougs are hosting Idaho in their season opener. It will be their first game under new head coach Jimmy Rogers.
That game kicks off at 7:00 tomorrow night from Pullman.
Sounders/Reign News
Soccer royalty is coming to Seattle this weekend. The Sounders are hosting Lionel Messi and Inter Miami in the Leagues Cup Championship on Sunday.
Seattle still has yet to lose a game in the tournament. They’re coming off a shutout win over the LA Galaxy in the semis.
Messi returned from an injury to score two goals in Miami’s semifinal win over Orlando. It will be the first time that Seattle and Miami have played since April 2022.
If they win, the Sounders would be the first MLS team to win every North American trophy possible. Sunday’s game starts at 5:00 from Lumen Field and will also stream live on Apple TV+.
But first, the Reign are hosting their rival San Diego Wave at 7:30 tonight. A win could push Seattle into the top five in the National Women’s Soccer League standings.
Storm News
The Storm made a late comeback to secure a big-time win last night. Seattle beat the Western Conference-leading Minnesota Lynx 93-79.
The Storm trailed by 21 midway through the second quarter, but outscored the Lynx by 27 points in the second half to earn the win. It tied their second-largest comeback win in franchise history.
Skylar Diggins scored 19 of her 23 points in the second half and Gabby Williams added 16 points on four 3-pointers.
The Storm are now tied with the Indiana Fever for 6th-place in the WNBA standings with just four games to go in the season. The top eight teams make the postseason.
They’ll look to pad their playoff positioning tomorrow night when the struggling Chicago Sky come to town. That game tips off at 6:00 from Climate Pledge.
