Mariners News

The Mariners are beginning their final road series of the regular season tonight in a matchup that will likely decide the division and their playoff fate. They’re in Houston for a three-game series against the rival Astros.

The two teams own identical records as they currently sit in a tie for first place in the American League West with just nine games to go in the regular season. They also enter the weekend with a 5-5 tie in the season series, which means the winner will own the tiebreaker.

Bryan Woo is on the mound for the M’s tonight against the Astros’ Hunter Brown in a matchup of two of the league’s top pitchers.

Coverage begins at 4:00 and first pitch is at 5:10 on KGMI.

Seahawks News

The Seahawks are back at home this weekend as they look to get their second win of the year. They’re hosting the New Orleans Saints on Sunday in a reunion between Seattle’s new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and his former team.

The Seahawks enter the matchup with a 1-1 record after narrowly losing to the 49ers in their season opener, but followed with a strong win in Pittsburgh last weekend.

The Saints are 0-2 with losses to Seattle’s NFC West rivals Arizona and San Francisco.  The Seahawks need a win to catch up in the division race, where they’re the only team who’s lost yet this season.

Coverage begins at 11 am Sunday and kickoff is at 1:00 on KPUG.

Huskies/Cougs News

The Huskies and Cougs are facing off in Pullman tomorrow for the 2025 Apple Cup.

Wazzu is coming off a blowout loss to North Texas where sophomore quarterback Jaxon Potter struggled, throwing three interceptions. They enter the matchup with a 2-1 record on the season.

UW is 2-0 coming off a bye and will be seeking revenge for last year’s tight loss at Lumen Field.

To date, the Huskies have 73 wins and the Cougs have 33 in the rivalry game that dates back to 1900.

Coverage begins at 2:30 tomorrow and kickoff is at 4:30 on KGMI.

Storm News

The Seattle Storm’s season has come to an end. They fell to the Las Vegas Aces 74-73 last night in the deciding Game 3 of their opening round playoff series.

Each team traded buckets in the final minutes before the Aces’ Jackie Young hit a go-ahead follow shot with 12 seconds left to help Vegas secure a spot in the WNBA semifinals. Reigning MVP A’ja Wilson scored 38 points to tie a playoff career high, including 25 in the second half.

Nneka Ogwumike and Erika Wheeler each led Seattle with 16 points. It’s the third time in four years that the Storm have been bounced from the playoffs by the Aces.

Las Vegas will now head to its seventh straight semifinal appearance, where it will face the Indiana Fever.

HS Football News
