WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Drivers near Lake Samish can soon breathe a sigh of relief.

Whatcom County Public Works says that the North Lake Samish Bridge will reopen to traffic tomorrow at noon on Friday, Sept. 18.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that the bridge was closed in May 2024 after inspectors determined it was urgently in need of replacement.

Samish Park was also closed as part of the bridge work, and will remain closed until further notice.

Public Works crews will be finishing some restoration work before announcing a formal reopening date for the park.

Drivers are being asked to obey any detour or closure sign in the area until they’re removed.
