Man killed in Mount Vernon shooting

MOUNT VERNON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man was killed following a shooting in Mount Vernon.

Police say that shots were fired between two groups of people on S 2nd Street around 5:30 Thursday afternoon.

A 23-year-old man was hit by at least one bullet and was pronounced dead at the scene.

It’s unclear at this time if anyone else was injured or how many people were involved. Mount Vernon Police are expected to release more information as it becomes available.
