BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man is in custody after breaking into a Western Washington University-owned property.
The university says a passerby noticed that the board to a crawlspace area had been removed from the vacant Ivy Terrace Cottages on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 12 and heard sounds from inside the building.
That prompted them to call university police to the building, which lies at the far north end of campus adjacent to Billy Frank Jr. Street.
Officers entered the building to find a 62-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of 2nd degree residential burglary, possession of burglary tools and 3rd degree theft.
He remains at the Whatcom County Jail without bail.
