BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man was arrested following a high-speed race on the highway in Bellingham overnight.

Washington State Patrol spokesperson Brad Tulloch says a trooper noticed a pair of cars racing on NB I-5 just south of Bellingham around 1 a.m.

The two vehicles were going roughly 120 mph before they both took the exit on Lakeway Drive.

Bellingham Police (BPD) officers pursued one of the cars, and the driver eventually fled their car on foot near Samish Way after a brief chase.

BPD used a drone and a K9 team to track the 21-year-old suspect down and arrest him.

He remains at the Whatcom County Jail without bail.
