FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A longtime Ferndale baker has announced she’ll soon be hanging up her apron.

Barb O’Brine, the owner of Barb’s Pies and Pastries, posted on social media that her last day in the kitchen will be on September 30th.

The business has been in operation since 1999, with O’Brine selling her renowned pies, Danishes and cookies out of her home kitchen.

Her operations expanded into downtown Ferndale in 2013 before making the permanent move to set up home base on 3rd Avenue in 2016.

O’Brine is hoping to keep her bakery up and running once her retirement takes effect.

She’s asking any interested individuals with bakery ownership experience to contact her for details.

An exact closure date has not been announced for the bakery.
