WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Christmas is just around the corner and there are tons of fun holiday activities in Whatcom County this weekend. We’ve got you covered in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.

Fairhaven Winterfest wraps up this Saturday, Dec. 20 with Sweater Weather. Dress yourself and your pets up and head down to celebrate the season in style at the historic Fairhaven Village. There will be horsedrawn carriage rides, a Winter Solstice reflection, a holiday dog parade and photos with Santa Claus and his elves from noon to 3 p.m.

While you are in Fairhaven, you can pop down to the Holiday Makers Market at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal. Peruse the gift-filled aisles and buy local crafts from local artisans from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

For all the details, go to bellinghammakersmarket.com.

If you have a green thumb, head to Garden Spot Nursery (900 Alabama St.) on Saturday for the Living Ornament Make and Take. Attendees will build glass balls full of plants, tiny lichens, mosses, twigs and more. What better way to celebrate the season, and the PNW, than with a Living Ornament?

The fee for Living Ornament Make and Take is $19.99. Go to garden-spot.com for all the details.

Fans of ice-skating are in luck this weekend.

The Bellingham Sportsplex is hosting Santa Skate on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and again from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Join Santa and Mrs. Claus for a skate around the rink, photos, hot chocolate or just to show off your epic ice-skating skills.

Santa Skate is open to skaters of all ages. Admission is $10. Get your tickets here.

Don’t forget about Christmas Karaoke at the Wild Buffalo on Christmas Day. This holiday tradition welcomes singers of all skill levels to the stage to belt out Christmas songs. Show up solo or with your friends and enjoy an evening of jolly cheer and merriment.

Christmas Karaoke is a 21+ event and starts at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 25. Admission is free. For all the details, go to wildbuffalo.net.

Our featured live show this week is at Shakedown on Saturday.

Bellingham’s Full Color Dream will be celebrating the release of their new album. Fans of Fugazi, Sonic Youth and Minus the Bear don’t want to miss this one.
