WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Once again, February came and went quickly as the shortest month of the year is wont to do. Let’s wish it a fond farewell with a bang, shall we? We have a ton of fun events for you in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.

If you saw this year’s nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, you may have found yourself saying, “I can’t believe it’s not rock!” Well, if it is rock you are looking for, look no further than the Upfront Theatre (203 Prospect St.) in Bellingham.

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Rock is an improvised rock musical comedy that pits bands against each other to see who can shred and sing their way through a series of adventures. Fans of rock music, comedy and chaos will surely enjoy this spectacle.

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Rock runs from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27. For tickets, go to theupfrontheatre.com.

If you work in farming and agriculture, or just have a green thumb, you are in luck. The 10th annual Whatcom Farm Expo is on Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds in Lynden.

Learn about business planning, marketing, water access and more. The event features workshops, presentations from experts, a youth engagement area, live animals and great local food.

The Whatcom Farm Expo is free to attend and runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For all the details, go to whatcomcd.org.

Whatcom County is home to many craft breweries that make some of the best beer in the world. If you want to celebrate that tradition, head to Kulshan Brewing’s Roosevelt Taproom (1538 Kentucky St.) on Saturday for Night of the Helles.

Kulshan Brewing and Otherlands Beer will pour pints of some of the finest German-style Helles lager around. Lagers from Chuckanut, Larrabee, Structure, pFriem, Gold Dot and Wayfinder will also be on tap.

Night of the Helles runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. For all the details, go to kulshanbrewing.com.

We have two featured live shows for you in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.

On Saturday night, Reposado will bring their brand of Latin funk to the Wild Buffalo for a night of culture, music and dance. Fans of Buena Vista Social Club, Barrabas and Bad Bunny don’t want to miss this one.

Reposado takes the stage at 8 p.m. For tickets, go to wildbuffalo.net.

On Sunday night, March 1, local alt-rock band The Hobby will perform at Shakedown. Fusing the sounds of emo legends like Dashboard Confessional and Sunny Day Real Estate with the pop punk sensibilities of Lagwagon and Jawbreaker, The Hobby are a must-see for fans of the Bellingham music scene.

Opening for The Hobby are Cat Valley and Harbor Day. For tickets, go to shakedownbellingham.com.
