BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – World Cup fever has taken over Bellingham and watch parties abound across the City of Subdued Excitement. Let’s not forget about the rest of Whatcom County though. There are a bunch of fun events this weekend for folks who aren’t obsessed with soccer. We have it all for you in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.

It’s summertime in Bellingham and that means the circus is in town. It’s not just any old circus. Cirque Italia Metropolis has set up camp at Bellis Fair Mall.

The performance tells the story of a country boy making the journey from his farm to the big city. Water stages, acrobatics and art come together in Metropolis to create an emotional tale of wonder.

Cirque Italia runs Friday, June 26 through Monday, June 29 with seven shows.

The good folks at the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce have a special event planned this weekend. Jam on the River features musical guests, local vendors, food trucks and a beer garden.

Rainy weather has forced organizers to move the event to Pioneer Pavilion on Friday and if the rain sticks around, it could be held there on Saturday as well. For now, Saturday’s festivities will be held at Centennial River Walk Park.

Jam on the River runs from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and from noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

If you’re interested in taking in some hot tractor action, you are in luck.

The Puget Sound Antique Tractor and Machinery Association is hosting the Spring Tractor and Truck Pulls is Saturday and Sunday at Berthusen Park (8837 Berthusen Rd.) in Lynden.

Operators will duke it out on lawnmowers, tractors and trucks to see who can pull their load the farthest. Driving skills and horsepower will be on full display.

The Pulls start at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday. For tickets, go to psatma.org or just show up and buy your ticket at the gate.

Our featured live show this weekend is also in Lynden.

Schmid and Guest will perform at the Jansen Art Center (321 Front St.) on Saturday night. Fiddler Cayley Schmid and pianist Aaron Guest will perform instrumental Celtic music from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

For tickets, go to jansenartcenter.org.
