WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – It’s Cinco de Mayo weekend and that means beer. Specifically, it means it’s time to try some Mexican lagers. I can’t think of a better spot to do just that than at El Sueñito Brewing Company in Bellingham. This weekend, El Sueñito is hosting their first ever Fiesta de Lagers event. It’s a dream come true, folks!

The brewery in the Sunnyland neighborhood has invited five Seattle breweries to bring their favorite lagers up to the city of subdued excitement. The tap list will feature eight lagers from El Sueñito, Holy Mountain, Bizarre, Project 9, Metier and Hellbent Brewing: everything from Mexican Lagers to hoppy lagers to Italian pilsners.

Fiesta de Lagers at El Sueñito Brewing runs Friday through Sunday. They’ll even be hosting a Brewery Social on Friday at 7 p.m. So, if you want to hobnob with the brewers and learn about these delicious lagers, make sure you head down for that. Go to elsuenitobrewing.com for all the details.

If lagers aren’t your thing, how does a brand-new enchanted circus show sound? The Bellingham Circus Guild is hosting The Cascadian Creatures Talent Show this weekend.

The show tells the story of mushroom gnomes, fairies and enchanted creatures living in their little patch of forest. Unfortunately, their world is turned upside down when they hear some humans plan to bulldoze it to build the new SuperMegaShopville. Will the creatures change the hearts and minds of the humans in time to save their home?

You’ll have to head down to the Circus Guild on 6th Street in Fairhaven to find out. The Cascadian Creatures Talent Show runs Friday through Sunday. It’s all ages and fun for the whole family. For tickets and more information, go to bellinghamcirusguild.com.

Our featured live music this week is a free show up in Ferndale. That’s right, folks. It’s a free show on a Saturday night, May 4 and it’s going to be a ripper.

Portland’s GalacticNorcinerator will bring their brand of caveman punk rock to the city on the Nooksack.  GalacticNorcinerator is playing with another band from PDX, Stanton Yard, and Bellingham’s own Pure Halcyon.

It’s a free show, so you don’t need to get tickets. Just show up at the Main Street Bar and Grill in Ferndale at 8 p.m. on Saturday night and enjoy the show.
