WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – There is so much to do in Whatcom County this weekend. We’ve got you covered in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.

The Bellingham Celtic Festival runs through Sunday, Sep. 21 at venues across the city. It’ll be a fun-filled weekend celebrating Celtic music and culture with concerts, workshops, tea and a whole lot more.

The Blue Room, Honey Moon Meadery, Uisce, Boundary Bay Brewery and several other locations around downtown Bellingham are participating this year. If you’re a fan of traditional music, sing-alongs and good times with good people, this is the event for you.

For all the details, go to bellinghamcelticfestival.com.

Listen up, runners. The Bellingham Bay Marathon is Sunday, Sep. 21. Participants can register for the marathon, half-marathon, 10K and 5K runs that will weave through Bellingham and along the waterfront.

To register, go to bellinghambaymarathon.org. All the proceeds from registration fees will go to support local youth non-profits.

Fans of theatre, rejoice! The New Prospect Theatre presents The Shark is Broken from Friday, Sep. 19 to Sunday, Sep. 28.

The Shark is Broken is a comedy that takes you behind the scenes of the making of Jaws. Actors will portray the stars of the film as they grapple with the arduous filming schedule by arguing, drinking and gambling. Of course, Jaws went on to become a massive hit and is known as the first summer Blockbuster.

Tickets for The Shark is Broken can be purchased at newprospecttheatre.com.

If you haven’t read up on the great apple picking options in Whatcom County and Boundary Bay’s 30th anniversary celebration, you can find those stories on our website. Listen to our interview with Boundary Bay’s Shanna Sheridan McGinnis below:

Our featured live show is at the Wild Buffalo on Sunday.

The Wailers will grace the stage to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Natural Mystic, the great Bob Marley and the Wailers compilation album.

They’ll perform hits like “So Much Trouble in the World,” “Iron Lion Zion,” and “One Drop,” just to name a few. They’ll also feature songs from their new album EVOLUTION.

The Wailers are currently led by Aston Barrett Jr., son of the legendary Aston “Familyman” Barrett, so the jams will be on point and extra irie.

Opening for The Wailers is Blessed Coast Soundsystem. For tickets to the show, go to wildbuffalo.net.
