Heavy snow forecast for North Cascades

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Heavy mountain snow and some lowland snow is coming to Whatcom County this weekend.

The National Weather Service in Seattle says a storm system will enter the region on Sunday, Feb. 25 that will bring up to two feet of snow to the Cascade Mountains.

Western Whatcom and Skagit Counties are both forecast to get minor snow Sunday through Tuesday, Feb. 27.

Forecasters estimate a nearly 50 percent chance of Bellingham receiving an inch or more of snow Monday night into Tuesday morning.

NWS says the storm system will also bring breezy winds and cooler temperatures across the region.

Overnight lows are forecast to drop down to 29 degrees in Bellingham this Monday night.
