BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Money is now on the table for projects looking to revitalize downtown Bellingham.

On Monday, the Downtown Bellingham Partnership announced two grant opportunities for curb appeal projects and community celebration events.  Both of the funds total $19,000 for the two programs.

The first program offers grants of up to $2,000 for any street-visible business seeking to enhance their storefront. According to a press release, the goal of this grant is to rejuvenate the downtown district’s aesthetic appeal. Applications are open until May 20 and the Partnership’s Design Committee will review submissions and award recipients by the end of May.

The second grant is for organizations and businesses to host events on the 1300 block of Commercial Street. Funds ranging from $500 to $1,000 will go towards block parties, artistic performances, workshops and other events. These grant applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until funds run out.
