PIERCE COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A fifth teen has been taken into custody in connection to the deadly Chelan Hills Fire.
U.S. Marshals arrested the 19-year-old man in Pierce County late Thursday, Sept. 24.
He and four other men, also between the ages of 18 and 19, are accused of setting off illegal fireworks during a burn ban on the 4th of July from a moving vehicle.
Sparks from the fireworks are believed to have started the Chelan Hills Fire, which killed a 69-year-old man and caused over $6 million in damage.
The other four suspects made their first court appearances earlier this week and are all being held on $1 million bond.
