WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Time is running out to dispose of flood-damaged debris in Whatcom County.

Whatcom County’s Department of Emergency Management is reminding people that the Stremler Yard disposal site near Sumas will close on or before this Wednesday, Dec. 31.

RDS and Republic, both based in Ferndale, will continue to accept any flood-damaged materials.

An equipment “lending library” for residents near Everson is being moved to 605 Robinson St. as of Monday, Dec. 29.

Those assisting in flood recovery efforts can use the lending library to borrow dehumidifiers, pumps and other tools to help prevent the spread of mold in flood-damaged buildings.
