WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Another recall has been issued for a couple types of frozen bean sprouts.

The FDA put out the alert last Friday, expanding a voluntary recall from July after salmonella contamination was reported.

The products in question come from India-based company Deep-Brand, involving certain bags of their sprouted mung beans, moth beans and Surti Undhiu Mix.

So far, 11 people have reported illness linked to the contaminated foods, including one case in Washington.

Four people have been hospitalized in relation to the outbreak, but none so far have died.

The FDA and Whatcom County Health Department recommend throwing out the 1 lb. and 12 oz bags of the products and cleaning with hot, soapy water all surfaces that the food has touched.
