BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – You may want to plan ahead if you’re looking to get your driver’s license or renew your car tabs this week.

The Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL) says its licensing offices and call center will be closed from this Friday, Feb. 14 through next Monday, Feb. 17 for a system upgrade.

Online services for driver and vehicle or boat licensing will be down even longer, from Feb. 10 through Feb. 17.

The DOL expects long wait times when its licensing offices reopen, so it is advising people to make appointments ahead of time.

It adds that business and professional licensing systems will not be impacted by the temporary outage.
