BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Dates have been announced for Bellingham’s extended airport closure next summer.

The Port of Bellingham says Bellingham International Airport will be closed for runway repairs from July 20 through August 19, 2027.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that Port commissioners approved the 30-day closure earlier this year to reconstruct three taxiways and install blast pads on the runways. The repairs are required by the FAA.

Grants are expected to cover 90 to 95% of the $25 million project.

Port officials believe that closing the runway will result in a net loss of $385,000 for the airport.
