BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Bellingham’s Reddit exploded earlier this week when a Whatcom Community College student did a difficult stunt in front of a large crowd.

The Bellingham Herald reports that the student named Martin was “bored” when he decided to eat two boxes of Lance crackers without water in front of a crowd last Sunday at 3 p.m.

He made posters for the event, advertising them around town and on the local Reddit. On the poster, Martin is pictured with a serious expression and hands clasped together while sitting at a table with the two boxes of crackers. Below the image is the words “Be here or die.”

Multiple videos posted to the local subreddit depict him eating two boxes of Lance crackers next to Waypoint Park.

Lauded online for “bringing Bellingham together,” Cracker Guy pushed the table over after successfully finishing the final cracker… and the crowd went wild. Afterwards, Cracker Guy’s girlfriend joined him, and he raised their held hands while declaring that he had a girlfriend.

One of the attendants used a vintage Polaroid 800 Land Camera to capture the momentous event, developing the image onto a glass negative before posting it to the subreddit. Another made an edit of the video with the song “Eye of the Tiger” edited over the clip. Yet another made a vlog-style video uploaded to YouTube about their first-hand experience going to see Martin eat the crackers.
