City of Bellingham seeks community input in Bakerview Neighborhood Park Master Plan

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The City of Bellingham is looking for more community input as plans to develop a new park on E. Bakerview Road continue.

The new park located in the King Mountain Neighborhood consists of nine acres of cleared hayfields, 20 acres of forest and wetlands with two creeks running through it.

According to the city’s website, the area will be utilized for this new park, a trail network, stream restoration and new residential development.

Currently, the King Mountain neighborhood and the nearby Meridian neighborhood house an estimated 7,800 people with no public parks between the two.

The city is hosting a public meeting on Thursday Oct. 23 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Bellingham Covenant Church. For more information, visit the city’s website.
