SEDRO-WOOLLEY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A car chase through Skagit County landed a suspect in the hospital.

Sedro-Woolley Police say that officers made a traffic stop on a damaged car driving recklessly near the hospital early on Thursday, Jan. 15.

They noticed drug paraphernalia inside before the driver sped away onto Highway 20.

Over the course of the next ten minutes, the driver avoided several spike strips, spun out multiple times and lost three of his car’s tires.

The pursuit was called off, but the severely damaged car was found near a park a short time later.

A WSDOT crewmember spotted the suspect near Gages Slough, where he was “forced” into custody by several law enforcement agencies.

Sedro-Woolley Police say that the suspect was hospitalized and will be booked into the Skagit County Jail once he’s been medically cleared.
