BRIEF: Lummi Police investigating dead body on reservation

LUMMI NATION, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Police are investigating a dead body that was found on a remote trail near the Northwest Indian College.

The Lummi Nation Police Department said on social media that someone reported finding the body around 10:30 on Tuesday morning.

Officers arrived at the trail near Kwina Road to find a dead man in his late 30s on the ground.

Police detectives and the FBI investigated the scene before the body was transported to the Whatcom County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine a cause of death.

Lummi Police say they’re working to notify the man’s family members and will release his name once their investigation is complete.
