SEATTLE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Amazon is cutting hundreds of jobs from its cloud computing unit.

The Seattle-based tech company will eliminate hundreds of jobs from the AWS team that oversees technology in their brick and mortar stores.

The announcement comes after Amazon said they’re ending their Just Walk Out technology in its US grocery stores. They’ll also make cuts to their AWS sales, marketing and global services sectors.

In January, Amazon cut hundreds of jobs at Prime Video and MGM Studios. Twitch, a social media platform owned by Amazon, also recently laid off 500 employees.

The company says the moves come as they shift their workforce to other areas to optimize innovation.
