BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The City of Bellingham is accepting new ideas for its next major event.

City officials have opened applications for their annual tourism grants, which range from $5,000 to $100,000. Favored applicants would have plans for events that would bring tourists and a boost to our local economy.

Some events that have benefitted from these grants in the past include April Brews Day, Ski to Sea, and the Cascadia Int’l Women’s Film Festival.

Funding for the grants comes through the city’s lodging tax. Application for the tourism grants are due by September 4.
