Bellingham Police investigating shooting death near Guide Meridian

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man is dead and another was injured following a shooting in Bellingham.

Bellingham Police Lt. Claudia Murphy says that shots were heard near West Horton Road and the Guide late Saturday, Oct. 18. Witnesses saw a vehicle leave the area, but officers were unable to find any evidence that a crime had occurred.

A short time later, a car pulled up to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center with two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of them, a 26-year-old, later passed away from his injuries. The other victim, identified as a 25-year-old male, is undergoing treatment and is expected to survive.
