BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Another fire restriction in Whatcom County has been loosened.
Bellingham announced they are lifting their recreational fire ban within city limits effective 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11.
That means backyard bonfires are allowed once more inside the city.
The total ban was enacted in early August as the state saw its worst fire season yet.
The city is still reminding people to exercise caution when setting fires, such as keeping flames small and using only charcoal and seasoned firewood.
This comes mere hours after Whatcom County downgraded their burn ban in unincorporated parts of the county to a Stage 1.
