SEATTLE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A prominent band whose roots began in Bellingham is making their return to the Pacific Northwest this summer.

Death Cab for Cutie has announced dates for its “Plans” 20th anniversary tour, including two shows in Seattle.

The group formed in 1997 while their members were students at Western Washington University (WWU). They made their major-label debut with “Plans” in 2005, which went on to earn a Grammy nomination and go platinum.

In 2019, the indie rock band performed at Civic Field in Bellingham with electronic duo Odesza who also got their start while attending WWU.

Death Cab for Cutie will play the album in its entirety at Climate Pledge Arena on Thursday, July 31, and Saturday, Aug. 2. They were originally only supposed to play one show, but added the Saturday set due to high ticket demand.

Tickets and information can be found at the Climate Pledge Arena website
