OLYMPIA, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Devices that can convert guns into machine guns won’t be making a return to Washington state anytime soon.

The decision was announced by state Attorney General Nick Brown, which was made in connection to a lawsuit filed by attorneys general in over a dozen states.

They’re attempting to stop the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms from allowing sales of machine gun converters.

AG Brown says the devices are being found more frequently on weapons used in mass shootings and other crimes.

The federal ATF, along with manufacturer Rare Breed Triggers, have agreed not to return any machine gun converters to states that are part of the ongoing lawsuit.
