OLYMPIA, Wash. — An Alabama company is recalling more than 11,000 pounds of ready-to-eat imitation sausage products since they may contain metal.

R. L. Zeigler Company says the 24-ounce packages of “Red Hots” and “Extra Hot Red Hots” with a use-by date of January 24, 2019 are included in the recall.

The USDA reports consumer complaints last month led to an investigation and Zeigler issued the recall when it tracked down the issue.

No confirmed cases of injury or illness have come through, but you’re urged to check your refrigerators and freezers for the products and either throw them out or return them to the store.
