BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Construction crews are less than a week away from breaking ground on a project that is a first for the Pacific Northwest.

Western Washington University will begin construction on Kaiser Borsari Hall next Monday, March 20th, which aims to be the first carbon-neutral academic building in our area.

The 54,000 square foot building will house the university’s computer engineering, energy science, and computer science programs.

A sky bridge will also connect the hall to the Communications Facility.

Kaiser Borsari Hall is named after Fred Kaiser and Grace Borsari, who have contributed $10 million towards the building’s $73 million budget.

Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2025.
